BRAGB's Economic and Housing Forecast is a highly anticipate annual event. One December 17, 2020, Dr. Robert Dietz provided a review and forecast of economic and housing market conditions with an eye on residential construction impacts. Housing is a bright spot for the economy in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, and he detailed macroeconomic factors affecting housing demand, industry-level detail on supply-side headwinds that are limiting construction sector growth, and share NAHB's economic forecast including future actions of the Federal Reserve. Dr. Dietz also quantified geographic trends affecting housing demand, including the suburban shift - the move to lower density markets - of both single-family and multifamily construction.
